THE CENTRAL FLORIDA DEMOCRATIC LGBTQ+ CAUCUSES HOLDS SPECIAL EVENT THIS MONTH!

ORLANDO, Florida – The Central Florida Democratic LGBTQ+ Caucuses have joined together to host Jeopardy’s Amy Schneider – 40-time show champion, writer, and public speaker – for a special virtual event on Thursday, April 21. Our regular membership meeting starts at 6:30 pm, and is followed by our special guest at 7:00 pm. 

Amy Schneider’s 40-game winning streak on the game show Jeopardy! spanned from November 2021 to January 2022, the second-longest win streak in the show’s history, behind only Ken Jennings (74 games), who hosted the show when Amy competed. She is the most successful woman ever to compete on the show in both her streak and her $1.3 million in winnings. 

Schneider has been an active advocate for the Trans Community, discussing her journey, struggles, and triumphs. With the recent anti-LGBTQ+ legislation coming out of Tallahassee, the Rainbow SemDems (Seminole), Rainbow Democrats (Orange), Space Coast LGBTA Democratic Caucus (Brevard), and the Osceola LGBTQ+ Lighthouse Democrats (Osceola) are seeking positive stories and inspiration for our communities as we continue to face unprecedented discrimination and combatting hateful rhetoric. 

“Representation — accurate, diverse, honest representation — is incredibly important for everyone, but especially for those people in the LGBTQ community,” Schneider says. 

While the Zoom call will only be open to Central Florida LGBTQ+ Caucus Active Members, it will also be streamed live on Facebook through each of the Caucus Facebook Pages. If you are not a member – we encourage you to become one today!
